message from the creator.

I initiated Vorise in 2020, naming it after my great grandmother, Lula Mae Vorise, whose influence sparked the venture. Drawing inspiration from cinematic works like "Jason’s Lyric," "Queen and Slim," "Their Eyes Were Watching God," and musical pieces such as “Sweet Thing” by Chaka Khan, “Boston” by boylife, “Good Luck” by Dijon, and “White” by Frank Ocean, the brand embodies an array of cultural influences.

Vorise is a celebration of emotions. When adorned with Vorise garments, I aim for wearers to experience feelings of love, romance, sensuality, and effortless comfort.

Each item is affectionately named after a family member, except for the Alex pants, a homage to my mother's birthplace, Alexandria, Louisiana.

The tagline, “stop trying to put a label on everything,” resonates deeply with my personal journey battling anxiety and depression. It reflects the struggle against the spiraling thoughts and catastrophic narratives that often accompany these conditions. By letting go of control and refraining from negatively labeling every thought and feeling, I find my true self.

Our collection encompasses both staple and statement pieces, facilitating effortless mixing and matching. Moreover, many of our designs are unisex.

As a black and female-owned business, we sincerely appreciate your support. Thank you for being part of our journey.

Sincerely,

Jordan Vorise Chantel Carter.
